About
Avery Slezak (she/they) is an illustrator, book artist, and paper engineer based in Brooklyn, NY. She makes bold and graphic illustrations, zines, artist books, and pop-up books that often focus on absurdism, spirituality, politics, and climate change among other things.
She is also the director and a co-founder of super professional press, an independent Risograph printing collective that publishes work by other artists in addition to her own work. She has tabled at various art book fairs and zine fairs with the press and independently.
Avery went to Pratt Institute and received her BFA in Communications Design with an emphasis in Illustration and a minor in Book Arts.
